English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The event will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
