I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
