Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
