Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a message.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
